Playback interruption and playlist upscrolling

Postby Shtirlitz » 28 Mar 2010 18:41

Hello everyone.
I have a problem connected with playback. When I'm watching some channel playback sometimes stops. When I tried to find out the reason of it I saw that SAP playlist was scrolling itself up fast. How to fix the channel which is being watched at the moment?
Best regards, Shtirlitz.

What does Tools -> Messages... (set Verbosity to 2) complain when that happens?

Do 1.1.0 nightly builds work any better?
http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win32/?C=M;O=D (trunks are 1.1.0)

No, I still have the same problem.
This happens when I use SAP instead of a fixed playlist.

The same problem bothers me for a long time. SAP list may be rebuilded at any time and current TV or Radio stream is stoped. But If I open the stream by the address, I have no problems. But SAP is needed, all users get used to it long time. The solution of the problem is to protect your SAP multicast group from users who send any UDP packets to this group. It ocurred that some routers with igmp proxy send a copy of your SAP announce back to the WAN port! And you can see the correct SAP UDP packets using Wireshark, but the src MAC adresses are different. VLC recives the same packets and starts the rebuilding of SAP list.
