Possible to convert (or play) a .PART file?

Possible to convert (or play) a .PART file?

Postby Ven1985 » 15 Mar 2010 21:55

Hi, I've been struggling for awhile now trying to figure out a way to watch a few old videos that I've recently found that were never completed. I understand that I won't be able to watch them completely, but they were nearly completed back when I was downloading them. I've tried finishing the downloads but the sources are since gone, so I figured the next best thing was to watch what was already there.

Well, that's where I'm stuck. I've heard of people simply re-naming the file to .avi and then using a program like DIVFix++ to play them, and I've also heard of programs that could actually play .PART files but I haven't had any luck finding them, if they do actually exist.

Basically, I'm just wondering if there's a way to convert the .PART files to .avi, or something like that and if there is, how do I do it? The files I've found were just about finished, so I should be able to watch most of them if I can figure out how to do this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :).

You should simply remove .PART from the name. Whether it will work depend on the file format (AVI is especially bad for partial files).
