Disabling libdvdcss

Postby lesismore » 04 Mar 2005 19:52

Using the binaries for windows, can the libdvdcss be disabled, to avoid licensing issues associated with that library. What would the implications of disabling that library.

--disable-dvd \
--disable-dvdnav \
--disable-dvdplay \
--disable-dvdread \
--without-dvdread \

You would not be able to play DVDs, with the above settings, I suspect.

A couple of other handy ones, depending on your use:
--disable-cddax --disable-vcdx \
Disable general cd and video CD.
--disable-galaktos \
A visualization -- nothing wrong with it, I just dislike waiting for the amount of time it takes to compile, since I don't use it.
--disable-skins2 \
I use the wxwindows interface.

Try ./configure --help to get a feel for all the switches.

Alternately, you can do a complete build, then just delete the plugins that you do not want in your distribution set.
