Audio problems with Mac, OSX, G5, Digital Out

Postby kächen » 01 Mar 2005 22:22

Hi,
owning a brand new 2x2,5GHz Mac with digital out:

The mac runs good, after launching vlc on a vob-file it swithches to digital out, no matter what I put into the systems prefs. Switching in vlc to pcm audio crashes vlc and somewhat the system, as there is no return to pcm audio before a reboot.

Can you help?

Thanks a lot,
regards,
katerino

I've searched the forum and haven't found any fixes for the same problem. If someone knows a fix to prevent VLC from switching to digital audio out... please link it in this thread. Thank you.

Under a search for "digital audio out"... I found this thread. Think it maybe the fix.

Looks like this program is just buggy on Macs... or at least dp G5's. fixed the problem with it switching to digital audio.. now don't have audio in files i played before that had audio... at least itunes now has audio.
