On-Screen Display: Sometimes, Somtimes Not.

Postby siouxdax » 26 Dec 2009 21:13

Hello all:
It may seem trivial, but it does get on my nerves now and again. Typically when I am playing a video full-screen I use the scroll wheel on my mouse to adjust the volume. This of course is indicated on the floating GUI bar (the multi-colored scale), but it is also shown as an On-Screen Display, indicated by a vertical white bar, not unlike a progress bar. What I have found, though, is that this OSD white bar does not always appear. It seems to only show up when it feels like it. The same can be said for when I press "t" to bring up the time elapsed display. Why is this? Why does it sometimes display, sometimes not? I should mention that this has been happening over several versions of VLC, as well as on different machines and OS's, so I don't think it's related to any of those.

Anyone have any ideas?

Kind Regards,

I've got the same issue, very annoying... :(
I'd rather just turn it off, but if you turn off OSD you also lose the show title on video, which is quite useful when you're watching a playlist in fullscreen, it woul be nice if they seperate the funtions of showing the title & other OSD functions, or just get rid of that "ugly" progress bar since in essence you've got your controller wit a progressbar on it already there and the time indiation that's flashing in when using step forwar/backwarfro is useful. :? :? :?
