Configuration file's location

Postby daftendireckt » 12 Jan 2004 14:33

Hi!
I am running VLC on Windows XP and the configuration is saved in \application data\vlc.
My question is if it's possible to change this location to the main VLC directory, in this way VLC could be embedded on a USB Key...

It is possible if you run vlc with the "--config <path>" command line parameter (eg. from a batch script or a shortcut).

Ok thanks, it's usefull to know it.
Now, the problem is it seems than the configuration changes are not saved even if I press the save button. The message box indicates that VLC has saved my profil but when I restart it, all the changes are gone :(

My system is:
VLC last nightly version
Windows XP

Known bug in 0.7.0 :(
This is fixed in the development version.

Try http://vthr.via.ecp.fr/~videolan/build/ ... 130015.zip. I'm not exactly sure this build contains the fix so if this still doesn't work, try tomorrow's build.
