Subtitles problem that u dont want to fix :(

Hi guys. I was just wondering when watching 16:9 movie and a lot of black border is unused, subtitles are still on the video?! I mean, c'mon guys, other players doesnt have this problem, plus this problem is for a lot of years and was told to you but you dont want to fix . 16:9 movies play with a big black border down (and up of course), and that big black border could be used to appear subtitles on it, but no, subtitles are still on the video, that means u see subtitles aproximately on the midle of your monitor, and that thing really sucks a lot. C'mon guys, your pllayer is most performant in the world, is the best, but has this very annoying thing, god, is this so hard to fix or u dont care about us, users? I'll wait for an answer. Pls

Noone said we don't want to fix. It is just very complex now, and it will be fixed, someday, but it requires quite some work from us.

i'll wait for that happy day when VLC will become the only player i'll use forever ) 10x for quick answer

Well you can have vlc move subtitles down - certainly with dvd's, or mpeg2 video's.
The amount possible will be determined by your display and ar of the video

Just look in tools -> preferences -> Subtitles & Osd, -32 to -56 px should do.

Ex - 300 - all in black, up to 2 display lines

Maybe, but with most of the video files no. I mean subtitles should be down by default. I really dont know why when subtitles fucntion was implemented, was implemented to be a part of the video. You want see, if u see a movie on a TV channel, that subtitles are on the black line. It would be ridiculous. They are in the black line, not on it. It's a thing of appearance. It looks ugly. It's a minor thing (technically), and if all major players can, i'm sure VLC could make it in the future release or in a after-release patch, of course, if the people who builds it want.

So, i hope it will be fixed. Otherwise, as i sad before, VLC is the best. I mean, for me, played all files that other players dont recognise, and plays them with no need of codec downloads. This is why i love it and this fix would make it PERFECT for me.
