VLC as MyHd Operator

O.S. windows XP

VLC media player 0.8.1 Windows interface

I am trying to cause MyHd to run under VLC. It will, but no audio on ATSC streams, and no subchannels on ATSC either. VLC does operate the MyHd properly on analog TV, including audio. Does anyone know how to set up ATSC properly on this card, the proper filter graph, codecs, etc?
