VLM controlled by HTML interface

Postby samfrog » 24 Jan 2010 00:08

I tried to configure VLM VOD via the VLC media player. This is what I did:

First by Setting up the Log
1. Open VLC media player
2. Go to Tools -> Preferences
3. Click All settings
4. Expand Advanced -> Logging
5. Enter C:\vlc.log as the log filename.
6. Click save

I aslo went to
1. Go to Tools -> Messages
2. Set Verbosity to 2
3. Save as C:\vlc2.log

Second configure VLM
1. Go to View -> Add Interface then select Telnet Interface in VLC media player
2. Go to Tools -> VLM Configurator
3. Select Video on Demand
4. I entered a name, say 'Test'
5. I select my input, say 'C:\test.mp4'
6. I clicked Add
7. I see VOD: Test is added in the Media Manager List
8. I clicked Close to close VLM configurator
9. Then I go to Firefox and issued rtsp://localhost:5554/Test and an error saying "Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to opent he MRL 'rtsp://localhost:5554/Test' Check the log for details.
10. When I go to C:\ I don't see any log files

Am I missing somethings? THanks
