Closed caption on VLC 1.0.3

Postby vv_wetwet » 21 Jan 2010 21:31

How to display "closed caption" on VLC 1.0.3? or does VLC 1.0.3 has "closed caption" features?

Thanks.

My file is an avi file that I downloaded on the internet, and the file is app 350 MB big.

Otherthan share out the file, will there any solutions to solve the "closed caption" problem?

Hi

Look like everyone else have it working, but me.

I am currently using 1.0.2, on the VLC web site and forums said VLC 1.0.2 support closed caption, I still cannot get it to work. I got some DVDs that unable to display closed caption, but on the box it has cc logo, the option for display closed caption is not available in the menu. The only option I have on menu for closed caption are open file and closed, (Sorry I interface is in Chinese or only can give you my approximated translation for the menu option.)

The DVD I have problem with is MacGyver dvd box set ISBN number on the box is 1-4157-0665-4. This is a zone 1 dvd I bought from A**zon

Does anyone has the some problem?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Stephen

Hi

I am using Ubuntu 9,10, I think the latest re-build binary I can get is 1.0.2, but I will upgrade to 10.4 later this month, hopefully I can get 1.0.3, and will give it another try.

As for 1.1 do I need to download the source or where can I get it?

Thanks
Stephen

Hi j.b

Thanks for your help, I prefer build it from source code, can you tell me where I can get the source for 1.1, all I can find on the web site is the source code for 1.0.5?

Do I need to get it through git ?

Thanks
Stephen

sorry I got compile problem with my current Linux installation when I tried to compile the 1.0.5 source, keep saying that some component is missing during configuration phase. so I assume that it will be the same as 1.1 if I tried to compile from the source.

Sorry I have not got time to investigate farther, once I got time I will give compiling 1.1 a try.
