Sorry guys haven't had much time at all to update.

I haven't had a chance to find a website (Can't seem to get any website names anymore they are all taken)

Anyone can upload dvdflow for this guys that would be great as i know i've been asked a few times for the file and offered for the file to be hosted so if it can be hosted thats fantastic.

Hopefully i will be able to get a website soon and put up all my random projects with sourcecode/ideas/anything that can help people improve on it.

I did start making a new html movie player this time running on pure HTML and some basic javascript

Here's a sneak peak

Image

The Clear DVD case is a PNG file and sits ontop of a standard jpg of a dvd cover to give it that look.

Im hoping to have a XML of all movies and dumping that XML to a javascript array and then going through the array on the webpage that was only a xml file needs to be updated and the html all stays the same :)

Hi folks,

I uploaded the (old) DVDflow package from NIN_NIN. You can get it from here:

Happy coding...

Hey guys

i've still been working on this and sadly i haven't found a way to use either csv or xml with client side javascript to work with my new interface.

I didn't want to go the route of using a webserver on the PC thats running it but i might just bite the bullet and do that and use PHP and a mysql server to provide the backend.

If anyones got a way to use xml/csv with client side javascript id like to hear it

Hi Nin_Nin,

found this solution article (short: you have to do a work around...) :

http://aktuell.de.selfhtml.org/artikel/ ... file-open/

Or the almost English translation... :

Greets,

Thanks Fabian

Sadly that's not really helpful i might be able to make something in flash and just use that to parse the xml into html for the page that should work easily but i myself haven't done flash for years it was simple enough to mod the original flash that was made i might give it ago once i have more free time and can find a flash cd.

I stumbled across your HTML movie player and love the interface its exactly what Im looking for. However adobe seems to have crippled its functionality. I have no problem running the interface from a webserver. If I try to run it locally without using a webserver I get a NPobject error with firefox. After some research it appears that when the swf file is created from the fla file you have some choices of security. The swf file I was able to get hold of apparently has security settings for serving it from a web server.

Is there any chance I can get the dvd show.fla file placed on an file sharing site somewhere? I did manage to find the coverflow.fla files but Id rather not re-invent a "wheel" you already created.

Hey guys sorry i haven't been around i saw there was a new post and a few PM's for me as well i'll reply to them all now.

Sadly i have lost all the files i had for the original dvd flow and the new version as well sadly i totally forgot when i redid my laptop and the pc i had them saved on was at work and got reimaged when i was away :(

I spent a few hours last night and finally got javascript to read and use a xml file so and have worked out an easier way to get the information for all of your movies as well.

I've started to remake the 2nd version of dvd flow and that should be close to done soon but i am still having some problems with it as well.

The javascript i have is working fine but i am having trouble with making it only show say 10 dvd's on a page then load the next 10 on another page it works fine to show 10 but im having issues with the next page showing 11 to 20 it just doesn't seem to work so im trying to figure that out cause i believe to many png files on the 1 page will slow the webpage down too much when you have 600+ png images on the 1 page then another 600 dvd covers as well it's better for the page to be reloaded and move through the list.

I'll try to get it all sorted sometime soon i brought webspace and a domain name a few months ago and still haven't had time to do anything with it.

If someone can post the original dvd flow i'll save it and then upload it to my site

Wouldn't be great if users could select files through a simple coverflow interface in vlc ? With an aasy and clean cut.

I am running kubuntu 11.04 and can't really put up with the native media players in KDE. None of them seems to able to perform that effect. And they provide too many useless info on the media that really make u cross eyed.
Compiling options? Don't really work for newbi like myself. Not enough details provided to the immature on those blogs.
So perhaps a simple plugin to install through ppa? Or Terminal?

Can anyone add this feature in repo?
