i came across a strange occurance that happenes very rarley but only seems to occur or becomes noticable when playing very long video files on vlc. is there anythign in the file access module that could throw an error capable of temporarily breaking the link between an express card esata controller and the harddrive connected to it?? what happenes is ocasionally while watching a video the external drive 's access led will go off while the access light on the sata controller will stay on constantly for about 5 seconds the video and the computer will freeze. after this time has elapsed both lights will flash once and the system resumes normal communication. i have checked the harddrive and the enclosure many times and found no faults. now it boils down to a few possibilities. either prolonged continuous access is overheating the controller card causing a temporary connection loss or vlc's file access module is trying to do somthing funky to the external drive that the firmware isn't able to handle, confusing either the bridge or the controller card. or it could be one of those generic XP bugs. anyone else having this issue and could someone help me trouble shoot this. esata is still a rather new protocol and i was hoping someone else has this problem and can give me some insight i would hate to have to pull out the usb cable every time i want to watch a movie.
