Postby idmah » 03 Dec 2009 20:43

Upgraded to VLC 1.02 and the 1.03 played fine before.
Now all video played have audio drop outs usually after a few seconds of normal play.
just set to 2 channel. Video plays perfect in Shrink and the DVD player???

System is Asus P6T Deluxe V2 with 2.66 i7 and ATI Radeon 4870 1 gig.
Any ideas???

thanks in advance.

The same problem is on my Thinkpad W500. With Media player no problems. In the past vlc worked fine but since two weeks the vlc audio is bad.

Is it possible to download version 0.9.9 from somewhere?

Does it help if you remove %appdata%\vlc folder? Answer Nope...

Seems to play a while then the audio dropouts begin and get worse.
Thought it was just the movie but everything dvd-file related seems to have the
same problem.

Replaced Audio driver. I think I read somewhere here it could
actually have something to do with the Video Card. ATi 4870.

Any ideas?? anyone..

thanks
Ian

Thx for the link. On my notebook the problem exists also in version 0.9.9. The dropouts are more regularly in 0.9.9 - one per 1.5 sec. That means that this problem is not linked to a specific version of VLC.

I have to change something on my computer, but what ??

I tried Win32waveOut extension output. The sound was worse than the output "Default". No change regarding dropouts.

In 'device manager' | 'Sound, video and game controllers' , I found three instances of Bluetooth-Audio (Provider Broadcom Corp., same driver, but three different locations). I guess they came when I connected my new mobile phone three weeks ago.

Is it helpfull to uninstall this drivers?

Nope. VLC defaults to same audio output than Windows, and additional devices aren't used.

Does it help at if you change video output module?

It helps!!! I disabled 'Accelerated video output/Overlay video' and everything is fine. Furthermore, the synchronicity between video and audio is much better. This is very helpful on piano playing videos, my favorite videos!
:D Thanks for your help
 This solution worked only for one hour, then the old problam was in place!

:? Found a new solution: VLC audio works fine when the graphic card is disabled (ATI Mobility FireGL V5700) .
Does anyone know how to setup the graphic card that it works with VLC?

Are you doing/surfing anything to cam/flash related while using vlc?If yes then you should right click in your speakers icon, go to playback devices--->communications.You'll see the root of all <<evil>> there. :P
