Best deinterlacing method?

There are lots of deinterlacing method and I was wondering wich one is considered the "best one".

Quality-wise yadif should be best that VLC offers.

And what's the difference between yadif and yadif (2x)? Wich one should I use?

One double the framerate, the other doesn't. Use the best for your cpu :D
