Multi-video simultanous same window tiled

Postby newfellow » 26 Nov 2009 02:37

Well, since been searching this sort of player now for at least past years wanted to ask what is so hard on building this (I do understand you need codecs + as many loads as there's playbacks).
Actually registered to this forum just to ask this one. :)

here's simply what I am looking in picture (even 'Audio' in the picture isn't required, but would be nice to have it, if clicked to be full size, but this opening could be again be done in another window.):
Image

Now lets consider that this would possibly process 20-100 videos all resize accordingly and we're talking about feature I'm looking.

Is this possible or what is the problem in it? or is this actually possible with any player/media center/video tool in the world?

thanks,

this looks interesting gonna try it asap.

edit:

Well, this sounds very interesting or more like scriptable/workable solution, but not as in general use. However, was not exactly what I was thinking. why should VLC base the fake size & then add
specified size screens to it or this Avisynth split screen. Above example picture I am referring I was thinking that top browser would handle the tile/split & the actual playing (mosaic) would actually be
players each of it's own.

I ain't coder, but would imaging removing/disabling everything except video (from MPC x64 for example all there's left is the window frame) and tile/split that under an "basic" application should work. Everytime new one comes or leaves re-tile/split.

Well, did some testing here.

1. AviSynth can do basic resize + stack vertical and horizontal, but those are not individual playbacks. So, this is not the way to go unless someone figure how to make individual video files auto resize according to window + as individual units.
2. Using Visual C# &/or VBA here was trying to make an ActiveX & .NET enviroments in web browser style which = been good, but sadly my coding skills ends here (plus I never could remove the VLC bars so was using MPC with only window frame)
(referring http://wiki.videolan.org/.Net_Interface_to_VLC and http://wiki.videolan.org/ActiveX follow)
3. Found X360 Software ActiveX MultiVideo player program similar to what I'm looking for however this player only understands individual open video file where we should consider support of 20 maybe hundreds of separate video files. (http://www.x360soft.com/products/multivideoplayer/)
4. There's also software called 'MVS Player' on their pages software states it's completely free. However, after installation first thing you'll see is serials, but skipping that part and this software is pretty close in idea however complete resize is missing and on unregistered version you only can get 3 videos when I'm talking of 20-100. (http://www.absoftwide.com/mvs_player/)

Sad that my skills of coding simply are not enough to create stackhorizontal/vertical + resize of individual players.
