Invalid Time, Length and FPS

Postby Idsa » 11 Nov 2009 14:10

I was writing rtsp-camera data to the file. Everything was okay... but then I changed something (please help me to localize the change) and now when I try to play the video (the video recorded after the change: old videos are player well) FPS is equal to zero and Time and Length are inadequate big.

I have done two serious changes (and after one of them the problems began): 1. Changed camera settings to default 2. Upgraded VLC
I have tried to downgrade the VLC - it didn't help. May be the source of the problem is my camera. Here are some of it's settings:

Any help is very appreciated!

I tried to save the same stream using VLC player and after some manipulations it became to work as I need. I there any way to know how the parameters in GUI are converted in libvlc parameters?

I have finally found the source of the bug. That was muxer. Avi, asf and some others didn't work (what is interesting, they counted time and length different ways). mp4 muxer works well for my videostream.

It was a surprise for me that containers can influence on such things...
