WMAP Support

Postby MRL_VLC » 05 Nov 2009 04:22

Long time lurker, first post. I have converted video to 2 differing versions of wmv. One is with WMA2 audio, which plays fine in VLC 1.0.3. The other WMA3 audio does not, plays video in VLC but not audio. WMA2 stereo 2 channels plays fine the other, WMA3 6 channel plays video and not audio. The profiles for both files and the error are below. I have searched here with the understanding that WMAP support is currently in the release version of VLC , see link, as well I have tried the nightly branch and truck versions with the same results. Any help would be appreciated.

Issue seems to be 5.1 audio.

Thanks. Just to confirm, VLC can NOT play files that have 5.1 WMA3 audio? Is this being worked on as a "fix" or should I be looking for another player? Very common format.

Can't I just get an answer on whether VLC support WMAP 5.1 or not? Do I need to supply a sample to get an answer? Appears to be the case.

It prolly doesn't, but we really can't verify without samples.
