Green borders around .wmv videos?

why does this happen?

it doesn't happen in quicktime with flip4mac but of-course qt is slow and resource heavy which is why i like to use vlc... but on some of these files, it really stutters and has the green border throughout the film.

I never had this problem on my PC, but it happens all the time on my Mac... I don't recall it happening when I first switched over to using a Mac, but I don't know if that's just because I wasn't trying to play these same video files, or if one of the updates introduced this bug?

I'm using the PowerPC Build v1.0.3 but for sure had this problem with 1.0.0 as well.
