Seeking bug re-introduced in 1.0.3

Postby hardynicks » 05 Nov 2009 02:27

Seeking wmv movies will produce blocking distortion that lasts 2-3 seconds, seeking VP6F flv files will cause VLC to close, these bugs do not exist with 1.0.2.

OK, the flv 00:00 time and closing on seeking bug is fixed in the latest 1.0.3 build
http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win ... 1106-0202/

however the WMV seeking distortion bug is still there - it seems that it occurs on specific parts of videos and not others, for example on this video

http://trailers-ak.gametrailers.com/gt_ ... but_hd.wmv

play the video and skip to exactly 00:57 and distortion lasts a few seconds, for other WMV videos the distortion occurs at different times, on 1.0.2 there is no lasting distortion like this.

These might be differences on ffmpeg build used in nightlies and in official releases (at least WMV seek issue has been there for long time).

The WMV seeking problem was fixed in 1.0.2 official release though, as also pointed out by ben07 here
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=65472

but in 1.0.3 and 1.0.3 nightlies it is broken again, so something you did in 1.0.2 was right which was then changed in 1.0.3 which broke something  .
