VLC crashes on avi file with FFV1 codec

Postby Rubi » 04 Nov 2009 22:00

Hi.

I'm developing an application that can record media files (avi container) using the ffmpeg libs. When the video track uses the FFV1 lossless codec and I try to play this file in VLC 1.0.3 it crashes after a second or so.
I'm able to convert the avi file to another file with a different codec using the ffmpeg application, so the avi itself seeems okay.
Would you like to get the avi file to debug the crashing VLC?

I found someone who tested the avi successfully with VLC 1.0.2 under Linux and I have to mention that I'm using the Win32 release of VLC. So it seems the problem is arch specific. Can you move the thread to the Win32 forum?

The file can be downloaded from http://toenderup.de/ffv1.avi

The file plays fine in mplayer/win32
