Average Bandwidth from Streaming?

I have been very interested in using this project in making a centralized home entertinment system and was wondering if I would need a beefed up network. Can I stream dvd over a 54Mbs wireless connection? Can I stream to several over 100Mbs?

Requirement for streaming a DVD should be around 10Mbits/s.
You might also want to have a look at multicasting if you want to stream the same content to several clients at the same time.
