Sound skipping in VLC on Windows 7

Postby realish » 03 Nov 2009 08:37

I've had VLC working fine for years. I just got a new PC and installed Windows 7 on it.

Now, when VLC plays a video or sound file, the sound hiccups every 20 seconds or so. The video is fine.

I have an Intel core i7 processor, a kick-ass motherboard, and nothing else running, so I know it's not lack of power. All my drivers are updated.

Any ideas?

I have the same issue with mkv files (x264 video with AC3 audio) on 1.03. Version 1.0.2 is fine. My platform is:

Windows 7 RTM x64
Q6600 / P35 chipset
Auzentech X-Fi Forte

Have you tried Waveout audio output module?
