Square means that the default font doesn't support chinese characters. Change it in the preferences.

You need to set an adequate font for the freetype-font parameter when initializing the libvlc instance.

Hi, I try to use marquee to show traditional chinese and I set the freetype font and then it works.

When I use the API mediacontrol_display_text to show traditional chinese, it's still cannot recognize the font type.

I think that does it need to modify mediacontrol_audio_video.c to put the font type into psys ?? Is there having any plan to modify these? Thx~~~
