Help viewing streams

Postby dazed&confused » 08 Jan 2004 11:57

I am trying to watch a mpeg4 quicktime streamed track (hinted mpeg4) it is hosted on a darwin streaming server, both Mplayer and quicktime can see it and I dont know what I am doing wrong. I get errors like no input module??
At the end of the day I need to be able to download streams to file from hardware mpeg4 and mpeg 2(vbrick) servers for subsequent re-encoding. Is this something that videoLan will do? If not anyone know anything that will?
Many thanks all!
Jim

OK, thanks to this informative forum I have downloaded version 7 and I can now see and download the stream. Only issue is that the stream progress slider stops at 27 seconds, as does the recorded stream. Continues to be displayed on screen. at 27 seconds half the video goes white which seems to confuse things!
