VLC Media Player Video saving problem

Postby rapftwlol » 28 Sep 2009 13:18

When I try to open an .avi file and add subtitles (.srt) to it, it won't save. It then gives errors like "can't read the file" and "see the log for further information". I've translated these phrases because I've got the Dutch version of VLC Media Player, so they won't be exact. Can anyone help me so I can save my movie + added subtitles (Dutch). Because then I can put it on a USB-stick and play movies on my Xbox 360 (if that works). :)

I've translated the errors from Dutch to English with a translator:

Read of file failed: VLC were possible resistant the " C:\Documents and Settings\Eigenaar\Mijn documents \ Downloads \ Banlieue 13 [2004] (district B13) English Dubbed DVD-Rip Spidy.avi: sub-file=C: /Documents and Settings/owner/my documents/Downloads/Banlieue.13.2004.FRENCH.DVDRip.XViD-TnS.srt: subsdec-align=0: freetype-rel-fontsize=16" do not open. Your import could not be opened: VLC couldn't open the MRL ' C:\Documents and Settings\Eigenaar\Mijn documents \ Downloads \ Banlieue 13 [2004] (district B13) English Dubbed DVD-Rip Spidy.avi: sub-file=C: /Documents and Settings/owner/my documents/Downloads/Banlieue.13.2004.FRENCH.DVDRip.XViD-TnS.srt: subsdec-align=0: freetype-rel-fontsize=16' do not open. Check the log for details.

So can someone help me now?

Oops! I forgot it's an .avi file and I need to convert to .wmv, does anyone know a good AVI to WMV converter, because I've downloaded like 10 converters and they all were bad. Because they have text like "trial version" through the screen or they only convert 50% of the movie. So does anyone know a GOOD AVI to WMV converter?
