Windows 7 taskbar stuck in front

Just installed windows 7 professional on my htpc (got a free copy from school).
but got a major problem.
When i play videos in full screen the taskbar stays on top. I checked fullscreen, and always in front, I also unchecked the windows decerations box. I also made sure i didn't have the wallpaper mode on.
I remember the same thing happening with vista but i don't remember how to fix it.

Have you changed DPI options?

yes, made them bigger for i could read the text on the screen.
I have it hooked up to my 45" lcd and deffenatly cant read text without upping the dpi.
Do i need to turn of dpi scalling for vlc somehow?

got it, just had to disable some things on the properties tab ofthe aplications in windows.

Maybe you could post the steps you completed to fix the problem..

I found a setting last time i installed, to remove the taskbar on full screen (just like WMP) now i have reinstalled do you think i can find the fix..... NO....

Right click vlc.exe, select Properties and from Compatibility tab tick the DPI option.

I have the same problem with Windows 7 and the taskbar popping up when you click the fullscreen controls. I tried the compatiblity fix with DPI and that doesn't fix it. Any other ideas?

I have the same problem on Windows 7 x64. I tried this dpi setting in compatibility options, but nothing changed.
