*VLC Interface

Postby Aioria2240 » 12 Sep 2009 18:36

HI!!!

Ive been using VLC for long time but now im stuck with the 0.86i version, because of the new interface.

Please maybe you could make an additional build one the new versions using wxWidgets cause Qt one is not good and is
very impractical; also kinda horrible look.

Dunno if you either switch to the wx again or make an additional build with it, but please considerate this message.
Cause lot of users are stuck with the 0.86i one or moving to The Kmplayer.

I congratulate the Videolan project for excelent work, but again make strong consideration of the wx interface.

Thank you.

Created an account just to thank you. You've done me a great service in telling me when the last good version was :D
Updated today and was very :(
Now back to the simple and 100% less ugly version.

Only downside is less file compatibility (.rmvb being the one extension that I'll ever use) but considering the new versions don't even let you skip to a specific int in the video, I don't mind using RealPlayer as an alternative.
At least RealPlayer lets me chose a point in the video, new VLC lets you, the jumps back half a minute if at all.

+1

You cannot.

You can have the same look with 1.0.1 than 0.8.6i, use the customize dialog of the view menu.

And I don't see why a user should care if we are using wx or Qt.

There is only so much you can take of that. I hope it gets fixed soon (still not in 1.1 dev). But I will disagree in saying that the QT interface blows wxWidgets out of the water.

What are you speaking about? And this has nothing to do with interfaces.
