How to setup VOD in VLC 1.0.1 vesrion using GUI or anyhow???

Postby suryakiran13 » 02 Sep 2009 11:18

Hello This is Suryakiran13 from India.

My problem is that i have already read all the manuals regarding VLC newer version but i still not able to figure out how to setup VLC as a VOD server????

I have linux server with fedora 11 and a 10 PC lab in our department all connected in LAN.
I also have VLC 1.0.1 installed in all PCs. Now I have 900 GBs worth of data related to education in MP4 format so i want to put that data on server and stream from there to Multicast IP address so that anybody in the LAB with help of VLC can watch any clip at anytime whenever they want and also able to stop, play, forward, rewind.
so, please anyone can help me in doing this?????
in LAB i have all PCs having WINDOWS OS.

i have tried the telnet way which is described in the manual but it is still not working don't know why????
i think in regards to VOD the manual is very poorly designed so please help anybody?????

Thankx in Advance
