no soundcard in directshow

i'm trying to stream whatever comes out my soundcard. but when i go to 'audio device', it only shows my microphone.

i'm using the latest vlc version (and directshow of course).

You mean DirectX?

You use Vista or 7? In that case, you have to enable Stereo-mix, What-u-hear or similar device before you can use it.

i'm on vista, latest.
i'm afraid i don't have those devices. i only have mic and mic-linein (showing all devices). i have a sigmatel hidef audio device using the latest driver.
