Something went very wrong in 1.0.1 for FLV streamed clips

Postby ben07 » 28 Aug 2009 09:42

I'm NOT here to complain  , just want to let VLC knows that whatever they did in 1.0 was perfect in playing FLC FLV1 and VP6F (partially downloaded streamed clips), whereas 1.0.1 is a bomb, everything is messed up :x .

I test FLV clips as part of my job and on the average I test about 150 FLV clips daily (most of these clips are between 5 MB and 120 MB, and most of them are FLV streamed clips FLV1 and VP6F downloaded from the web and most of these clips are partial clips).

VLC 1.0 plays them 99.9% perfectly, as most of these FLV clips are partial/not complete clips, VLC is smart enough to recognize that and on the play progress bar, it always start in the middle or towards the end depending on the partial clips, but VLC 1.01, the play/progress bar always start from the beginning, which is wrong cause the FLV clips are all non-complte/partial, they should NOT start from the beginning and more over, in 1.01 all these FLV clips could not be seek fast forward and fast backward.

Once I revert back to VLC1.0, all these clips play smoothly again and they can all seek fast forward or fast backward.

VLC is a great and excellent player and I like it very much, just want to provide some constructive feedback and hopefully that will result in better VLC version in the ongoing new versions.

Best regards.

Windows?

There were a lot of people complaining against FLV playback in 1.0.0 and said it was fixed in 1.0.1. Samples?
