Anti Alias does not seem to work in VLC 1.0 and 1.0.1.

Postby nelsonm » 23 Aug 2009 18:30

Hi all,

I have a Vista x64 system with a GeForce 9500GT graphics card.

Starting with v1.0 and v1.0.1, there seems to be an anti aliasing problem that was not there in previous versions. When i play any video in any other player other than VLC, the video looks smooth but not with VLC.

The video segment on the left shows the problem when played on VLC 1.0.1. The segment on the right shows the same video segment without the problem when played on another player.

What do you think?

This is a known issue with the Direct3D module and the latest nVidia drivers ...

Happens with the ATI drivers as well (win7rc ati driver 8.632-090702a-084684C-ATI)
Swapping VLC to directX mode seems to correct the problem but forces win7 to drop aero video effects

Thanks

Switching to Directx mode did the trick - thanks.

BTW, which deinterlace mode is best for playing back ripped dvd movies?
