Video card upgrade on Macs

Since VLC allows the option of OpenGL in the "video rendering mode" menu and it seems to make a pretty big difference in performance with OpenGL video cards, will an upgrade from a ATI Radeo 9000 Pro to a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro make any difference in performance for video playback with the same option enabled?
