DVBLink + VLC Slingbox Plugin

Postby MattBurnes » 18 Aug 2009 01:17

Hey,

I dont know if this is the right forum to but I`ll give it a shot!

I've been trying to set up my Slingbox to work in my Windows Media Center (Win7).
So far I got one channel running!
Im using DVBLink to emulate a virtual Tuner which is able to "tune" into IPTV Channels. Via the VLC(older Version - new Version cant find the plugin) Slingbox Plugin I "re"stream the slingbox stream so the DVBLink is able to connect. The problem now is I cant change the channel since the way DVBLink changes channels is by connectiing to a new IP Adress or a differen Port. So for each channel I would need a different Port to stream on. ex: 127.0.0.1:1000 for Channel 1, 127.0.0.1:1001 for Channel 2.
Of course the Slingbox can only stream one channel at a time so I can only have one channel streaming. I tried to set up a VOD with VLC so VLC would only connect to the Slingbox when the virtual tuner wants to connect to a certain channel. But I couldnt get it to work because of codec issues. So what would be my best options? What I`d need is a piece of software that acts kind of like a server that watches the the virtual tuner on which port he is trying to connect and the software would close the current server stream and open a new stream with the slingbox. This has to happen every time when someone would change the channel.
I know, the Slingbox Plugin supports changing the channel by using the keyboard. But that doesnt help me since Im restreaming it and I`d like to use the Guide in MCE.

Hope I explained it well enough to understand lol

Any ideas????

Matt
