have any way to let 5.1 audio as default and not "stereo" ?
With DirectSound audio output, you can force the default speaker setup (
Tools -> Preferences... Show settings: All and Audio -> Output modules -> DirectX) otherwise it will default to Windows speaker setup.
VLC_help,
after uptade VLC media player from 1.0.1 to 1.0.5 version and follow the same procedures,
i got only stereo, not 5.1 as default.
can you help me again please?
VLC_help,
i have one confused question and my english is not so good to ask but let me try...
in windows 7 i did the adjusts like yours recommendations but after install 1.0.5, all 5.1 sources play as 5.1 and stereo play as stereo...nothing is wrong, i mean...is perfect!
now came the stranges but very cool results:
i have one old pc(windows 2000) with
1.0.1 version where was done the same adjusts and the results are:
5.1 sources = 5.1 output
2.0(stereo) source =
4 channels...
(yes,..left, back left, right and back right and is really cool), in the audio menu of the player i can do the desireds adjusts BUT after install 1.0.5 version, i lose this cool 'feature' : no more 4 channels when i play stereo sources.
then i download from VLC homepage the 1.0.1, unrar, did the directX adjusts but no more 4 channels playing stereo...only 2 channels..the audio menu don't let me adjust 4 or 5.1 channels.
the 1.0.5 was installed but the 1.0.1 was only decompressed, both versions are now in windows 7, both versions have exactly the same directX adjusts but no more 4 channels....is completely unknow for me why i don't get the old result.
have 'salvation' to my case as i prefer to use the old version that give me 4 channels playing stereo?
thanks in advance for your great help!
