Problem with aspect ratio

Hey,

I'm using VLC Player for the Mac, version 0.8.1 on Mac OS 10.3.7

When I try to play a video with aspect ratio of 4/3, I get a very wide screen with no video. It's just a black screen.

I've tried 4x3 and 4/3 in Preferences --> Video --> Source Aspect Ratio but I still get the same effect. Am I using the wrong syntax or is this a bug?
