Video Size Ratio help??

Postby biferi » 18 Jul 2009 17:05

I am using DVD Decrypter to take Clips from DVD Movies like Batman And Robin from the 1990 Movie I think.

Anyway the Video is not Widescreen but this is what I do.

After I have the Clip I want I take it into Movie Studio and Cut it and things like this and Render As Windows avi Uncompressed.
NTSC 720 x 480 and it says the Pixel Ratio will be 0.1909.1 DV NTSC

Now when it is Compleated it pl;ays as Widescreen it sould not it sould play as 4 : 3
And when I look at the Thumbnail image in the Folder were I keep all my Video clips it looks Widescreen as well.

Like I say I know my DVD is not widescreen and when I play my DVD it plays as 4:3
But even befor I edit it and I just use DVD Decrypter it comesout looking Widescreen with the Bars ontop and on bottum.

Can someone explaine this?????
thanks

Batman & Robin is a widescreen movie, probably your DVD player uses a technique like Pan & Scan to play the widescreen movie in 4:3.

But the DVD decrypter uses the actual 1.85:1 widescreen movie which is stored on the DVD.

I think I can help?

OK I checked all my information out and this is what is going on.
First you are right it is a Widescreen verson I hav so soory.
So when I take the clip and edit it if I evport to
720 x 480 but then use the Pixel Ratio of 1,0000 Swuqre will that turn it into a 4 : 3
when I render as?

Does anybody use Movie Studio 8.0 by Sony???
