Big Bug; OSX.3.7 / VLC 0.8.1

probably i didn't search well enough, anyway i didn't find any similair reports:

with virtually any video-file opened in VLC, VLC will crash when trying to seek through (scroll/draggin playhead) a file, trying to fast forward (for too long) or jump ahead/back too often (command+option+right/left-arrow).

at one point VLC will just hang for a few seconds, and then crash ..

very consistent, i can repeat it easily.

using QT-player, and Mplayer as references, the crash-behaviour seems very VLC-related.
