VLC 1.0 does not save default subtitles encoding

As said in subject default encoding is saved on auto and doesn't want to change to 1251 =/

Did you try to set it in the Subtitles & OSD section of VLC's preferences?

Yup but it just doesn't seem to save selections in config overwriting encoding with auto and other choices with defaults.
