I converted all my music to wma 7.1 surround. When I open any of those files, dmesg shows:
[0x7fb2c40b9008] main decoder error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `wmap'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.
[0x7fb2c4008898] main input error: Invalid PCR value in ES_OUT_SET_(GROUP_)PCR !

It seems clear that the codec is not yet supported. 7.1 surround has been out for a while and my card is supported under Linux (alsa). I suppose that the question to ask is: Is support coming?
The files are intact, as I can open them with Windows Media player on the XP side of this machine. I am mostly concerned with getting support for this file type with VLC under Linux, but it seems odd that even with the codec available in Windows, VLC under Windows can't open the file.
