When VLC starts up volume starts at 35%

so when i start up VLC the volume is automatically set to 35% so i have to change it to 100 every time i open the program is there any way i can fix this? and a lesser important question how did this happen?

please help driving me a little nuts

never mind i fixed the problem this can be closed now

EDIT:

to fix this problem i went to tools>preferences>audio and from there i set the default volume to 100% closed vlc opened it back up and it worked.

You can either change VLC to remember set volume via Tools -> Preferences... (Show settings: All) Interface -> Main interfaces -> Qt and tick Automatically save volume on exit or edit %appdata%\vlc\vlcrc with text editor (change volume).
