No image sequence support?

Postby oldarney » 28 Jun 2009 05:04

Can VLC play image sequences? after all it is the one and only player thats is supposed to play any video. I've been trying to play a tif file sequence, annoyingly it doesn't work. am i missing a windows codec or something? i can see their thumbnails in explorer so i guess not.

VLC doesn't use external codecs. So what Windows Explorer and VLC can show aren't related. VLC 1.0.0 has better image playback capabilities, so you should test it.

Is this still the case that image sequences are not supported in VLC?

I Can't figure out how to load and play a sequence.

This would be a very usefull feature for people working with 3d graphics and advanced video compositing.

VLC can play certain image files and create show them as slideshow, but the feature isn't perfect.
