Audio only AC3ACM files won't play

Postby -g- » 23 Jun 2009 05:00

I have used VirtualDub's "Save WAV..." option to save the audio from a video using the AC3ACM codec and the file won't play in VLC 1.0.0 RC4. Originally noted this on RC3. I'm running Windows XP.

The file, with a .wav extension, plays correctly on Windows Media Player.

Here it is. Sorry, I couldn't add attachments to my post so I had to use rapidshare.

Video files containing this audio codec play correctly with VLC (the audio codec appears as a52). Also, it's not common to have audio files like this, so it might be not an issue with VLC after all.
