vidcap problem

I seem to be having some problems using the screen capture feature. The first is that I can't get them to go into the folder I want to use (this could be partly or wholly a Vista problem--hard to tell since Vista can screw up in such spectacular ways). The other problem is that when I do find the vidcap I've saved, it has no extension, neither .png nor .jpg. Kinda weird. Anyone else experiencing these problems?
