.ogv Blank Document Icon

Postby jxself » 13 Jun 2009 18:41

This is just a small issue; I think I noticed it between RC2 and RC3: On Mac OS X, the .ogv files (for Theora video with or without audio) have blank document icons. Double-clicking on the files still play them, and I can change the file extension to .ogg and get an icon (but it looks like an audio icon.) As of 2007, the Xiph.Org Foundation requests that .ogg be used only for Vorbis due to backward compatibility concerns. The Xiph.Org Foundation decided to create a new set of file extensions and media types to describe different types of content such as .oga for audio only files, and .ogv for video with or without sound (including Theora.)

It's gotten worse with RC4: In addition to blank document icons for the .ogv files, my Matroska containers (.mkv) also have blank document icons with RC4.
