newbie looking for help

hi,

yes, I did search.

Q. I do I combine multiple files into one file. I downloaded a movie from bit torrent but its multiple files. I can watch the movie with VLC media player but I dont want to have all these files when I can just have one.

VLC is not the good tool. Try virtualdub

As j-b said, if you have several watchable videos (such as AVI files) use a tool such as VirtualDub to join them.

If they are e.g. RAR archives (*.part1.rar, *.part2.rar... or *.rar, *.r01...) then you need to extract the file(s) first. Use a tool such as 7-Zip (for Windows anyway) then try and play the extracted video file in VLC.

Or even better, AviDemux which can cut and join on non I frames.

Although you shouldn't download movies but you must buy them.

Go to:
User Control Panel >> Profile >> Edit avatar

If you have the URL to the image paste it in the "Link off-site" text box etc.

If you don't have the URL and want to upload it, get the picture you want to use as your avatar, scale it down so it is max 128px in width/height and upload it to an image hosting site such as ImageNerd:
http://www.imagenerd.com/

Copy the "Direct Link (Good for Browsers)" link and paste it in "Link off-site" bit etc.
