VLC 0.9.9 Playlist Issue

I just upgraded my VLC player from 0.9.8a to 0.9.9, and after I installed it, now I cannot drag items from my folders to the playlist. I think it is quite troublesome to always have to click the file, search etc.....why is the drag and play feature gone?
