encoding output

Postby Soundhalo » 04 Jan 2005 00:36

Does anyone know how to split the output file while encoding a video stream?
I want to encode a live signal to mpeg4 however I don't want just one output file. I would like to split it as it is being created into predifined increments. I would like these files to be rejoinable for play at a later time. Also, I would like to play the encoded video as it is being rejoined.

By scheduling VLC the vlm (see the Streaming Howto on the website's doc section), you might be able to do that.
