Help! I can't play anything using VideoLAN. An error comes up every time saying:

You might ant to see if the fix found by one person there is what you need.

You did not mention version of VLC, or of your operating system.. Always go for the latest DirectX, OS patches. I have only heard of one case where a vendor's latest graphics drivers caused an issue -- going to the very latest graphics driver is normally also a good thing to do.
