Howto make VLC Server start on Boot / Linux

Postby Heik » 07 Nov 2004 23:45

Hi !

finally got VLC server work on my Linuxbox.
When i am logged in to the box and start vlc with /usr/local/bin/vlc --extraintf=http i can play the recorded vob files on my Dbox2.

But i can´t make vlc run as a service - when i log off, the vlc also dies. I tried to add a & but it doesn't work.

any Ideas ??

thanks..

VLC 081 on Debian CTVDR and dbox2 Mediaplayer doesnt work

Postby chuck » 03 Jan 2005 19:01

Hi Folks,
i tried to connect the mediaplayer in my dbox2 (Tux-neutrino) CVS-20.12.2004 with the VLC 081 on my debian Sarge CT-VDR-distri.
All is setup OK in the dbox2 cause i can connect to a WindowsPC with VLC 072 and stream the stuff.
But unfortunately every time i tried this with the CTVDR it shows the folder, all the mpg files but the vlc reports (in a loop) HTTP/1.0 error 404 - not found. So what the heel you changed between 072 and 081 for Debian?
An email please to chuck@monmail.ch
