installation: codecs

hi, prior to installation, do i need to uninstall all my codecs ?

for e.g. i have vobsub, matroska, haali media splitter and divx installed. do i uninstall all of them first?

thanks. i can't wait for this confirmation before i install vlc!! :lol:

hi i'm not sure if this is appropriate to be asked here.

but actually i'm having many issues with playing videos in wmp like no sound with matroska videos and when open .ts high definition videos. i suspect this has got to do with a acuxvid4.ax preinstalled in my computer with a software called aculearn as this laptop is bought from school. i've yet to solve this problem for the codec.
will installing vlc complicate things? :?

No. VLC is independent to ANY other codec.
VLC doesn't use system codecs, and doesn't install system codecs. So, installing VLC is pretty harmless.

You can even run it without installing.
